The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation hosted a meeting of the Council of Heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Participating in the meeting was the Chairman of the BelCCI Mikhael Miatlikov.

The meeting considered the current activities of the Russian CCI system, plans to improve its work in order to protect and promote the interests of the business community.

The head of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry spoke within the framework of the block "The work of the CCI system in the new economic conditions", moderated by Ilya Zubkov, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

Mikhael Miatlikov spoke about the development of cooperation between the BelCCI and the Russian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, highlighting the "pillars" of cooperation, as well as promising areas of partnership. In particular, he emphasized that the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has agreements with chambers of almost all regions of the Russian Federation and effectively cooperates with them. "For example, this year inter-chamber cooperation of Belarus and Russia embraced business entities of subjects of the Russian Federation and all regions of Belarus, almost 200 events of various formats were held: business visits, exhibitions and fairs, seminars, presentations," the Сhairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said. "And we can confidently say today that we have made our contribution to the record trade turnover between the two countries."

At the same time, according to Mikhael Miatlikov, along with the already proven forms of interaction, it is important to establish new ones that meet the challenges of the time. Among such formats, he singled out the removal of barriers to the movement of goods and services between Belarus and Russia, the introduction of electronic certificates of own production and origin of goods, the organization of joint visits – in particular, to the "far arc" countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, consulting businesses on the sanctions' features, as well as retraining of the Chambers' staff.

"I am sure that these proposals are applicable both within the CIS and the Eurasian Economic Union. What we need to do is to start practicing them. And the Belarus-Russia interaction through the chambers, as the most integrated, should be a successful flagship project and then a locomotive for our promotion in other formats," the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said.
