Intellectual property strategy for exporters to China and MENA countries
25 November 2025

On November 25, the Brest branch of the BelCCI held a practical seminar on “Intellectual Property Strategy for Exporters to China and the MENA countries”.

The event's speaker was Daria Dombrovskaya-Beliaeva, Patent Attorney of the Republic of Belarus, Eurasian Patent Attorney, and partner at the Beliaevs and Partners law firm.

The event attracted particular interest from regional producers of dairy, bakery and confectionery products, flour mixes, household appliances, food and veterinary additives, etc.

Using practical, real-world examples from major national manufacturers and foreign copyright holders, we discussed the consequences of mistakes made in operating in foreign markets without registering their own rights, and how much such mistakes can cost companies.

Representatives from 30 Brest exporting companies learned about legal “espionage” through patents, what valuable information can be obtained from patent documentation, how its analysis can help assess the industry's development for decades to come, and why patents are not only protection but also a marketing tool.

The event was engaging and primarily addressed to member companies of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This led to the presentation of a membership certificate to a representative of another Brest company, LLC “Enkor Studio”, a software developer and resident of the Brest Science and Technology Park.
