Sales mission to Kaliningrad

On February 25, a sales mission organised by two regional CCIs for representatives of OJSC “Polotsk-Steklovolokno” and OJSC “Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange” in Kaliningrad started from the business matchmaking session. The heads of 12 companies came to the meeting with Belarusian entrepreneurs, and a number of other meetings took place away. Valery Labun, General Director of the Brest branch of the BelCCI, and Felix Lapin, President of the Kaliningrad CCI, addressed the participants with a welcome speech.

During the negotiations between Belarusian and Kaliningrad companies, issues of business cooperation in the field of construction, agriculture, trade, and automobile manufacturing were discussed.

Representatives of Belarusian business visited LLC “Klinkerbud”, TH “Kupets”, TH “Larets”, TH “Kholmanskikh”, TH “Alina”, and construction hypermarkets LLC “Baucenter RUS” and LLC “TH Lemana PRO”.

Valery Labun thanked his colleagues for organising the sales mission: “As always, the Kaliningrad CCI provides assistance in establishing contacts in a very professional and effective manner. Many companies are participating in the meeting from Kaliningrad, which confirms the excellent work of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the interest of business”. The Head of the Brest CCI also reported that another visit of Belarusian companies to Kaliningrad is planned for mid-March.

Timofey Yashchuk, Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Kaliningrad, took part in the business matchmaking. “We see how Belarusian enterprises actively participate in the implementation of projects in the Kaliningrad region, and Kaliningrad businesses find reliable partners in the Republic of Belarus,” Timofey Yashchuk noted. “I would like to express special gratitude to the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Kaliningrad and Brest Regions. Your organisations have become a driving force for the development of dialogue between business entities; it is institutions such as chambers of commerce and industry that are capable of turning ideas into real projects, and handshakes into real long-term contacts.”

The President of the Kaliningrad Chamber of Commerce and Industry assured that Kaliningrad businesses are interested in both working on the exchange and in the products of OJSC “Polotsk-Steklovolokno”. “The Kaliningrad Region is a region of Russia with unique soil and climate conditions, we produce about 700 thousand tons of grain, while the demand is slightly more than 300 thousand tons. Grain export is very important for us and I see here representatives of enterprises who want to know whether it is possible to sell their products through the exchange, given that we have no restrictions on trade with Belarus,” Felix Lapin shared.
