Reception of the business delegation of the Liaoning Province of the People's Republic of China at the Brest branch of the BelCCI

June 1, 2024 From May 31 to June 3, a delegation from the Liaoning Province of the People's Republic of China is visiting the Brest region. On June 1, at the Brest branch of the BelCCI, a business meeting was held with the Chinese delegation led by Mr. Zhang Weidong, Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Liaoning Province. The meeting was held simultaneously in two different formats - a round table and b2b negotiations between Belarusian and Chinese companies. Also present on the Chinese side were Mr. Sun Lianyun, Chairman of the Dalian Branch of the China Association for the Promotion of International Trade, the leadership of the Dalian Commerce Department, and Administration of Xigang District of Dalian. Chinese business was represented by the following corporations: 1. Simu Dalian Corporation LLC: construction of metallurgical plants, chemical fertilizer plants, etc. 2. Liaoning Northeast Asia Cultural Tourism Corporation. The goal is to study the tourism resources of Belarus. 3. China Railway Construction Corporation No. 9 LLC. Specialization: design and contracting of construction projects in areas such as railways, highways, municipal government, energy construction, real estate investment and mining construction. 4. JSC International Logistics Liu Huamao, Hong Kong. Specialization: transportation services, warehousing services, delivery services, engineering logistics services, customs clearance and certification services. Opening the meeting, Valery Labun, General Director of the Brest branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, thanked the Chinese guests for their cooperation and interest in the economic potential of the region, and informed about the trade and economic cooperation of the Brest region with China, including directly with the Liaoning Province. By the way, in June 2023, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Brest branch of the BelCCI and the Liaoning branch of the Chinese Committee for the Promotion of International Trade. A number of proposals for cooperation were made to the Chinese side, including the organization of mutual sales missions of the business circles of the Brest region and Liaoning province. In his response, Mr. Zhang Weidong thanked for the opportunity to meet at the regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the context of such dynamically developing contacts, and also invited the Belarusian side to visit Liaoning Province. In addition, Zhang Weidong noted the importance of using the strategic location of Brest for the development of the One Belt and One Road construction project, the development of mutual trade and the implementation of joint projects in the fields of education, medicine and tourism. Mr. Sun Lianyun, in his speech to the Belarusian partners, noted that he was very glad to visit the Сity of Brest and is ready to actively develop further contacts between the two regions within the framework of exhibition events, to promote the export and import of goods and services. Then the Chinese partners visited OJSC “Savushkin Product”, wh ere they got acquainted with the production, tasted the products and discussed the possibility of developing trade. The business day ended with a visit to the Brest-Severny station. Gennady Azarenko, First Deputy of the Brest branch of the Belarusian Railway, informed the guests about the activities of the terminal and expressed his readiness to expand cooperation. The Chinese side has shown interest in using and increasing the logistics potential of Brest for trade with Liaoning Province, also using the port facilities of the city of Dalian.
