Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail Myatlikov spoke about the results of the work of the BelCCI last year and plans for 2025 during a press conference at the Minsk International Exhibition Center.
According to Mikhail Myatlikov, changes to the law on the Chamber of Commerce and Industry were adopted last year. “The Chamber has received the right to make changes to regulatory legal acts that are within our competence. These are issues of certification of the origin of goods and exhibition and fair activities,” he noted.
In 2024, the BelCCI began working with marketplaces, and the first certificate of belarusian production in electronic format was issued. To assist exporters, the Chamber began to conduct examinations of foreign economic transactions, as well as work on issues of sanctions compliance, that is, assessing the risks that may arise at enterprises.
In addition, the work of the exhibition committee has been reformatted. A committee of heads of legal services of export-oriented enterprises has been created. The results of the work of the Business Education Center at the BelCCI were summed up, the details of the visit and interaction between Belarus and Myanmar were considered, and the advantages of the BelCCI Membership Card were discussed.
As for international activities, in 2024, 29 exhibitions were held in 18 countries, 90 visits abroad and 80 receptions of foreign delegations in Belarus from Europe, Asia and Africa took place. In total, 548 events were held to conduct foreign economic activity with partners from 40 countries.
This work will continue in 2025. Visits are planned to the UAE, Laos, Malaysia, Algeria, Zimbabwe, Equatorial Guinea, and CIS countries.
In addition, the head of the department of legal support and digital technologies of the BelCCI, Vitaly Vabishchevich, in turn, spoke about the nuances of the Congress on International Settlements, which will take place on February 11, 2025 in Minsk.
“The main emphasis will be on documentary operations. This is an opportunity to attract banking products and letters of credit in order to make external payments more guaranteed and reduce any risks of accounts receivable. We will talk about these subtleties with professionals in the financial, banking, and legal fields, so that our enterprises understand how to work with these tools,” Vitaly Vabishchevich emphasized.
